Hardy-Weinberg

                                           Problem Solver

                                        For my problem, the q2 that was given to me was .06.

Now the steps I went through to solve my problem were:
  1. I had been given .06 as my q2, therefore I was able to find q.
  2. Once I found q I decided to use the formula 1-q=p to find p.
  3. When I reached to find p I then of course squared it to find p2.
  4. After I had found what the variables for p & q were I was able to find the heterozygous which is  2xpxq.
  5. After all that identification, I was able to contain the number of individuals by multiplying the homozygous recessive individual (q2), homozygous dominant individual (p2), and the heterozygous individual (2pq) by 1000 because that was the population.
  6. I then looked at the results of number of of allies each factor had in terms of percentage.
That is how I solved the problem, so therefore these were me calculations or results...
***Remember I was given p2 as .06 and theirs 1000 individuals in a population.

             q2= .06
             q= .245                   (1-q=p)
             p= .755.                   1-.245=.755=P
             p2= .5700.
             2pq= .36995

                                                                   # of individuals:
                                                q2- 1000(.06)= 60 homo. recessive individuals
                                                p2- 1000(.5700)= 570.0 homo. dominant individual
                                                2pq- 1000(.36995)= 369.95 as 370 heterozygous individuals

                                                             60+570+370= 1000 individuals in population.

                                                                       # of alleles:
                                                     24.5% of the alleles are recessive
                                                     75.5% of the alleles are dominant
                                                     6% of the alleles are homozygous recessive
                                                     57% of the alleles are homozygous dominant
                                                     37% of the alleles are heterozygous

California Black Worm

          Throughout this experiment with the Black Worms, we all concluded 3 different solutions as A, B, or C. We in groups identified their heartbeats per minute. Anyway, I personally refer that substance C is stimulant because it has high numbers in all groups. According to the data, substance B averages out to be in the 35-40 beats per minute within all groups. In perspectives of google with information of worms, it stated that their normal pulse rate is 15 per 30 seconds. So with that said, 30 pulses had to be in one minute. 30 pulses is their normal rate per minute. Substance B is the normal solution because it is the closest to 30 pulses. Solutions B averages out to 25-30 beats per minute. Now substance A is depressant since it manages out to be an average of 45-50 pulses per minute within all the groups. The method I used was calculating them all and finding their averages for each three substances. I added them all and then divided by the numbers I used which is called the mean.

Ecology Selfies

As you can see on the first picture, I am touching an apple full of eagerness, while taking the "selfie" I was not calmed at all because most of all the pictures I assumed to take came out pretty horrible. I was such in a hurry to just finally eat the fresh apple, THE FRUIT. Long story short, my mom buys lots of apples and she always ends up throwing them away because they get rotten cause no one at the house eats them or pays attention to them. But now that I gathered an apple into my finger tips it turned out to be delicious.

Now the second picture is just a random feather I found outside my house. I don't know from what type of bird it is but all I know is that it's a feather, a beautiful one too.  This feather was pretty long, I had to cut some of it off since it wouldn't had fit in my selfie but over all it was a decent feather detached from a bird to randomly find on the floor. #excusemyuglyface

Oh my god I look so pale but finally this third picture is a flower or plant whatever it is, is part of my mom's flower/plants collection. I assume that flowers and plants are both the same thing. Anyway, it was to dark and late to go outside and take a pic so I found this plant inside the hall pathway and decided to just take a picture of this flower, it's so green and huge. It seems like it's so healthy. My mom for sure takes care of her plants.
